A good place to start is to think, what does winter smell like? Picture a walk in a frosty woodland; smells of the earth, woods and plant life, and then enter a cozy interior warmed by a crackling fire. These earthy, woody, smoky scents work extremely well as fragrance notes in winter, echoing the environment and providing warmth and comfort. As skin tends to be drier in winter, more attention needs to be given to keep it moisturised and well prepared to take the fragrance. The best time to spritz your winter perfume is after a bath or shower, as your pores are open and ready to lock in the scent. To help it further, apply moisturiser, lotions and face and body oil, before applying the fragrance. With earthy vetiver and creamy sandalwood in the base, No.88 has a unique floral heart of geranium, rose otto, cassie and frangipani, with a zest of fresh but woody bergamot in the top note.

Rose is iconic in perfumery and always amongst the most popular perfumes for her, but the delicate nature isn’t greatly suitable for winter.
