“As a designer, I find when developing a new fragrance my creative process is to imagine the whole finished product as my challenge: the concept, graphics, packaging, bottle colouring, and above all, I have to really love and be excited by the ultimate finessed fragrance. With Perfecto Fino, I first started creating the brief 4 years ago. The process of development and refinement and looking at my notes, I already knew I wanted something that, to me, represented Central America.
The graphics, an engraved image, reminiscent of old cigar boxes. The fragrance, a spicy floral scent, almost vegetal, with deep acidic influences. The composition, to be built around woody sharp notes which are powerful and masculine, with intensive leather notes that can be instantly recognised. By version five the process of refinement between myself and my favourite chemist and perfumer had developed into the Perfecto Fino scent that we have today – both deeply sensuous and exciting.
It has been a long affair, but I really have fallen in love with Perfecto Fino.”
