Travel writer, Chris McGinnis, recalls a memorable trip to London with iconic, flamboyant music artist, Elton John. He describes accompanying Elton on a shopping trip to his favourite stores, and Czech & Speake was amongst the list:
“The next day we (Elton included this time) limo-ed into town for more shopping, then another nice salad lunch at the Queensdale house. For the rest of the afternoon, we rushed around the city in the Bentley chauffeured by Derrick, stopping at Elton’s favorite Mayfair shops for soaps and potions like Czech & Speake, and his favorite T-shirts store, where we walked in and within minutes he’d purchased hundreds of pounds worth. He gave me three.”
