Schön! magazine curated our Manicure Set in Black & Red with gold instruments in their feature named ‘do not disturb’ inspired by the glamour of movies and TV that we all ‘endlessly binged over the past months’ in lockdown.
Our latest addition Perfecto Fino Eau de Parfum was included in The Gentleman’s Journal’s guide ” The Best Autumn Fragrances For Men”.
“This latest release from Czech & Speake is a rich and powerful scent perfect for the colder months. The British brand, which has been crafting truly iconic fragrances for decades, is inspired by the complex and exciting world of Central America and celebrates the man who can confidently follow his own path…”
Mr Porter featured our Oxford & Cambridge Aftershave in their guide “Five Fragrances That Work Any Time Of The Year”, words by pioneering male grooming expert, Lee Kynaston.
“The result is a work-friendly cologne of contradictions – one that’s elegant, crisp, fresh and aromatic, yet quietly warm and sensual – and one which epitomises a very British kind of understatement.”
Our Travel Pouch in black soft leather was featured in The Telegraph’s article ‘Do it for the dads’ as one of the top treats for Father’s Day by Lee Kynaston, one of the UK’s best known and most experienced grooming experts.
Our Villa Ausonia Eau de Parfum was included in the Gentleman’s Journal Guide of the best men’s fragrances for summer.
“Villa Ausonia is an eau du parfum designed to capture the freshness of the French Atlantic coast and the intoxicating scent of distant pine forests. This androgynous, modern and light fragrance blends notes of oceanic ozone, green (a lighter interpretation of chypre) and citrus to sit in the gourmand fragrance family…”
“The beauty of this fragrance lies in its simplicity and the natural, almost raw scent of young rose whose fragile petals are still covered with the morning dew. In Rose Cologne, a delicate yet refreshing blend of rose and geranium is masterfully completed by the duet of ylang-ylang and mimosa.”
The founder of Men’s grooming retailer and barbershop, Men’s Biz, shared his guide on men’s grooming essentials at home on Broadsheet magazine, including our Air-safe Manicure Set and No.88 moisturising Bath & Body Oil.
Our latest creation, Perfecto Fino, was included in the Gentleman’s Journal article: “The Best New Fragrances For Spring 2020”.
“Not for the faint hearted, the new spring fragrance from London-based grooming brand Czech & Speake is inspired by Cuban cigars and the culture of Latin America. Built around powerful notes of leather, sandalwood and tobacco, top notes of lemon and bergamot and a heart of cinnamon and clove lend this scent a floral spiciness that make it hard to forget.”
Perfume Blog Ventvenir reviewed our latest addition to our fragrance collection: Perfecto Fino Eau de Parfum.
“Perfecto Fino is the perfume with a strong and slightly rough character that nevertheless has something romantic like the fascinating world of Central America, which invites you to explore it with an open heart.
“If it were a place, it would be a local cafe somewhere in Central America.
If it were a color, it would be dark brown with green.
Menswear and lifestyle blog Grey Fox reviewed our latest creation, Perfecto Fino Eau de Parfum.
“This is a complex fragrance with a solid base of wood, leather and, yes, even hot tarmac: very reminiscent of a vintage car interior – in a nice way of course. This is relieved by spicy caramel notes and even a hint of cigar smoke (or was that the box design giving me that hint?) combined with a whack of fruitiness and even a scintilla of citrus.”
Products from both Czech & Speake’s Bathroom collection and Aromatics collection were included in The World of Interiors May issue. Our Cubist Wall-mounted Mixers were featured in style guide ‘Eau Naturel’ and our Manicure Set in Black & Red with Gold Instruments was featured in ‘Earthy Delights’ alongside top cosmetic brands.
Our Zebrano Razor has been included in the Gentleman’s Journal list of “10 grooming essentials every gentleman should be using this spring”.
“Even if no-one’s going to see your face for the next few weeks, that’s no excuse to let your fluff and scruff grow out unchecked. Czech & Speake’s Zebrano Wood shaving set is the ideal solution. Sustainably sourced yet stylish wood forms the handle of this striking razor. Never will your shaving routine have run so smoothly.”
The Gentleman’s Journal reviewed our latest release, Perfecto Fino Eau de Parfum.
“It’s a spicy, almost earthy scent — with deep acidic influences and a flutter of floral top notes. Imagine the sort of bar in old Havana where you’d have polished off a couple of naval-strength Daiquiris with Hemingway. That’s what it smells like. Unapologetically masculine; fiery and powerful.”
Men’s style influencer Carl Thompson shares his thoughts on our latest fragrance release, Perfecto Fino Eau de Parfum.
“This does offer something very transportable. And by that I mean it evokes a lot of distant imagery. The fragrance is undeniably masculine. I imbibed the cracked Russian leather and charred smoke as if I were getting a ride back to Havana airport in a ’55 Pontiac.
The fragrances’ brawn is somehow mellowed with natural herbaceous notes of jasmine and orange flower. “
Milieu Magazine styled Czech & Speake’s FS Washbasin and DCA taps against a striking blue backdrop of hand painted tiles.
‘Taking inspiration from the Delft blue of sixteenth-century ceramic tiles that adorn churches and palaces all over Portugal, MILIEU created hand-painted backdrops and floors to display a variety of luxurious fixtures that stand the test of time.’

The Telegraph wrote a piece titled ‘Beauty Brains’, in which selected beauty experts provided advice and their recommendations for new releases in the industry. Our latest release, Perfecto Fino, received a mention:
“Having road-tested a dozen of the latest offerings (You can imagine how I smell at this moment), my super fussy nostrils have settled on Cartier’s parfum version of Pasha de Cartier (warm, woody and musky), the super-commercial Gentleman Givenchy Boisée which fuses earthy woods and invigorating spices and Czech & Speake’s Central America-inspired Perfecto Fino (sexy, smokey and perfect for the evening)“.
In tribute to actor Daniel Craig ‘s decade in the role of James bond, GQ compiled a list of stylish grooming products that are suitably British. Our Oxford & Cambridge Cologne and Body Wash were chosen to be worn for the character ‘M’.
‘While the name and the sent are as old-school as they come, M is not all about rigid tradition, which resonates nicely with Czech & Speake’s elegant riffing on the classics.’
Our Zebrano Razor was selected as a winner in the shaving category at Gentleman’s Journal Grooming Awards 2020.
British model Sam Harwood defined it as one of the most attractive available to any discerning shaver. “I’ve recently converted back to wet shaving — for no real reason other than I find it mildly therapeutic. This timber-handled razor from Czech & Speake helps add to the authenticity of the experience. I have a lot of respect for the brand, it’s very elegant.”
In Mr Porter’s printed weekly periodical, our Oxford & Cambridge Cologne Spray 100ml was featured in their piece titled ‘Scents of Adventure’ which explores ‘How the explorative power of fragrance can take you to another plane of consciousness’. They said: “A light cologne with a sporty edge, this takes inspiration from the smell of a traditional English garden and the sporting excellence of our top universities, hence the two blues on the packaging. Cool and fresh with a hint of mint, it epitomises a very British kind of excellence”.
We are delighted to be included in “The 50 best British brands” list by Gentleman’s Journal.
